So I just happen to be looking at my server logs yesterday and I find a whole crapload of requests for a picture of a bat. It's a rather nasty picture of a bat, so I won't place it here. But so far I've found two sources of this picture getting linked. One was an IRC crawler [topicspy.argh.org] which pulled topics from IRC chat rooms. And evidently a link to that picture was in the topic of a chat room or something. I didn't really look into it. *shrug* And the other source was the strange one...some random person reports getting a joke email [sksboards.com] with the picture linked off my site as the punchline. I have no idea where that email came from. I haven't posted that picture anywhere in...well, in a long long time.

I found these things strange.

Update: It was then linked on some site...Finnish I believe from the visitors ips...here [sontalaatikko.net] (you have to agree that you're an adult to get in -- as I post this it's the 10th link in the Linkkilista -- it used to be 5th). If anyone speaks the language and could tell me what this site's about...I'd like to know. I like the poo theme, by the way. This server took quote a load for that picture just from this new link. I've rehosted the image with a free service so as not to remove it completely. All links are now redirected to the new host. In one day I got about 10,000 unique hits for this picture.
